Echis carinatus sinhaleyus is a venomous viper subspecies[1] endemic to Sri Lanka.[2]

Common names

Sri Lankan saw-scaled viper.[3]

Known as Script error: No such module "lang". (Script error: No such module "Lang".)[4] (can also be spelt as Script error: No such module "lang".) by the Sinhala speaking community. The vernacular name Script error: No such module "lang". translates as "sand viper".

Geographic range

It is found in Sri Lanka.[2]

The type locality is described as "Chavakachcheri, Jaffna Peninsula" (Northern Province, Sri Lanka).[5]
