History
Script error: No such module "Unsubst". The Cascarots are recorded from the fifteenth century in Spain and France, around the Basque country.[3][1][2] They are believed to be the descendants of marriages between Basques and Romani people.[4]
Historic documents mention the Cascarots living in ghettos, for example in Ciboure and occasionally entire villages such as the village of Ispoure.[2]
Name
In some sources the name for the Cascarots is recorded as Script error: No such module "Lang"..[5]
Culture
The Cascarots are traditionally known as good dancers,[6] with the Script error: No such module "Lang". being a particular dance seen in the Pyrenean valleys.[7]
