Biography
Bronfman was born in Tashkent, Uzbek SSR, and immigrated to Israel at the age of 15. He was born into a musical Jewish family. His father Naum Bronfman was a concertmaster of the municipal opera orchestra, his mother Pauline Bronfman was a pianist, and his older sister Elizabeth later became a violinist with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.[1][3] He became an American citizen in 1989.[4]
Bronfman's teachers were Arie Vardi, Rudolf Firkušný, Leon Fleisher, and Rudolf Serkin.[5][6]
