Goh Kiat Chun (Template:Langx; born 10 October 1979), better known as Wu Chun (Template:Lang-zh), is a Bruneian singer, actor, and entrepreneur. He was a founding member of Fahrenheit, a Taiwanese Mandopop vocal quartet boy band, but left in June 2011. Wu Chun has appeared in Taiwanese television series such as Tokyo Juliet, Hanazakarino Kimitachihe, Romantic Princess, Hot Shot, Sunny Girl and Kindaichi Case Files (2012–2013). His film roles include The Butterfly Lovers (2008) and Lady of the Dynasty. He maintains a presence on Sina Weibo.Script error: No such module "Unsubst".

In 2014, Wu Chun participated in the reality television program Dad is Back with his daughter. He appeared in the Chinese drama Martial Universe in 2018 and later featured in the reality TV show Best Time, alongside his father Wu Jing Tian. In early 2020, he appeared in the reality series Before Wedding, which was filmed in Brunei. That year, a wax figure of Wu Chun was unveiled at Madame Tussauds in Shanghai. Since 2019, he has been a brand ambassador for Hugo Boss in Asia.

Wu Chun is also active in environmental advocacy activities. In 2020, he became an ocean protection ambassador for Merlin Entertainments Group China, promoting marine conservation, particularly for beluga whales.Script error: No such module "Unsubst". He was named a Pangolin Protection Ambassador by the World Wildlife Fund.[1] In 2022, he appeared in advertising campaigns for Dior and La Mer. He became a representative for IQIYI during the 2023 Australian Open.[2]

Early life and education

Template:BLP unreferenced section Wu Chun was born to a family of Chinese descent, whose ancestry traces back to Lieyu, Kinmen, Fujian. Wu's father Goh Kim Tian is a real estate investor, and his family also owns a car agency and maintains ties to the royal family of Brunei.[3][4]

He studied at Chung Hwa Middle School in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. In 1997, he attended the Foundation Studies program at Trinity College (University of Melbourne), before continuing his studies at RMIT University in Melbourne, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

He played for Brunei's national basketball team. Before joining Fahrenheit, Wu Chun worked as a model for Yilin in Taiwan and Diva Models in Singapore. He is the managing director of Fitness Zone, a health club in Brunei, and has had business ventures in the USA, China, and other parts of Asia.

Wu's businesses in Brunei's fitness and health industry include Bake Culture, The Energy Kitchen, Fitness Zone,[5] and Women's Hair Salon. In China, he is a director of TV commercial advertisements for InterContinental Hotel. Wu has been involved in both commercial and charitable endorsements.[6]

Wu received an Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards (APEA) Young Entrepreneur of The Year (2008), CQE Geneva QC Total Quality Management Model Award (2012), and an APEA Corporate Social Responsibility Award (2013). In 2015, Hassanal Bolkiah, the King of Brunei, presented Wu with an Excellent Youth Award.[7]

Wu was chosen to be an ambassador for the Brunei Anti-Narcotic Drug Association in 2012. In 2014, he became the international brand ambassador of Royal Brunei Airlines[8][9][10] and a Taiwan tourism ambassador.[11] On 24 June 2016, Wu became a goodwill ambassador for a charity concert dedicated to children and athletes with special needs.

In 2018, he became the Goodwill Ambassador for Dementia Brunei, an advocacy unit for early detection and prevention of Dementia through healthy lifestyles.Script error: No such module "Unsubst". In 2018, Wu endorsed Lab Series, Land Rover, Head and Shoulders, Safeguard and Notion. In 2019, he was nominated for the Shanghai Television Festival Best Breakthrough Artist for his role in Martial Universe. In the same year, Wu became Hugo Boss' Asian Brand Ambassador for their Spring/Summer 2019 Eyewear campaign.

Personal life

Wu Chun and his family live in Brunei.[12][13][14] Wu is the nephew of the Legislative Council of Brunei's MP, Goh King Chin.[15] In March 2019, it was revealed that Wu has been married to his wife, Lin Liying, since 2004; he had disclosed this fact in 2013.[16] Together, Wu and Lin have two children.[16] They held a delayed wedding ceremony as part of a Chinese variety show, Before Wedding, which first aired in March 2020 on Mango TV.[17][18]

Wu's mother died of cancer in 2002.[19]

Philanthropy

In Brunei, Wu supports blood donation campaigns twice a year, environmental campaigns, and assistance to the disadvantaged. In May 2015 and 2016, he organized two female runs in Brunei, "She Runs," with all proceeds donated to Yayasan Kanser Kanak Kanak (YASKA) or the Children's Cancer Foundation. Wu made a 10-hour road trip from Qinghai to small villages in China to give medical supplies and sports equipment.[20] His efforts helped raise $68,000 for Special Olympics Brunei Darussalam.[21] In September 2016, Wu was the Goodwill Ambassador of the Roots and Wings Charity Concert in Brunei. The concert raised about 43,000 BND for the Special Olympics Brunei Darussalam and La vida Bhd.
