Article creation and expansion
Requested articles
- Four harmonious animals - kind of like the Town Musicians of Bremen, although the point in forming a pyramid is never really made clear. Yaan (talk) 17:27, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Towns and villages
There is an ongoing drive to improve all of the articles in List of towns and villages in Tibet. One of our goals is to add and infobox and locator map for all 800 odd places and begin adding basic encyclopedic data and transliterations. This is the infobox for settlements in Tibet. Please add this and fill in the relevant data if you see an article on a town or village missing it.

Article Construction
Discuss the format for each article based on the WikiProject. Include various categories applicable to the topic.
We should probably discuss article types, which may have different parameters. Example types might be:
Texts
Articles on texts should include:
- Text's title. Should be also given in Wylie transliteration.
- Authorship, if known. If the supposed authorship of a text is not established by scholarship, list it as an attribution: "The text is attributed to such-and-such." Name or names of the author should be also given in Wylie transliteration.
- Date
- Place of origin (if known); should be also given in Wylie transliteration.
- A rough overview of the contents of the text
- Separate sections for particularly important ideas in the text. Alternatively, short descriptions and links to articles on said ideas.
- Whatever caveats regarding disputes over readings of the text, etc.
- Associated sect(s) (Indicate, where appropriate, whether the text originated within the sect or was adopted by it after the fact.)
- A table of translations, like this one:
| Author | Title | Publisher | Date | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Garfield, Jay L. | The Fundamental Wisdom of the Middle Way |
Oxford University Press | 1995 | A translation of the Tibetan version together with commentary. |
