Vișeu de Jos

Vișeu de Jos (Template:Langx, Template:Langx or Inter Wisho, Template:Langx) is a commune in Maramureș County, Maramureș, Romania. It is composed of a single village, Vișeu de Jos. The river Vișeu, a tributary of the Tisa, flows through this commune.
Geography
The commune is located in the central-east part of the county, at a distance of Template:Cvt from the town of Vișeu de Sus and Template:Cvt from the county seat, Baia Mare. It is situated at an altitude of Template:Cvt, in a hilly area on the banks of the river Bistra. The Maramureș Mountains Natural Park lies to the northeast, between Vișeu de Jos and the Romania–Ukraine border.
The Vișeu de Jos train station serves the CFR Line 409, which runs from Salva in Bistrița-Năsăud County to Sighetu Marmației.
Demographics
At the 2021 census, the commune had a population of 5,212, of which 93.05% were Romanians and 3.18% Roma.[1]
