Rationale for shorter entry
I removed a paragraph that was added in good faith. That paragraph contained some useful exposition on this entry, but the entry was too long for an entry on a pejorative term used by a few people. The entry does include 4 citations and three external links, so anybody who wants to learn more about this topic can easily find more information. It should be noted that this entry has been tagged as a "low importance philosophy" article, so it's not far removed from being a non-notable article. I would prefer that this article be deleted, but I can compromise if the article is kept short. Chuck0 (talk) 04:05, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'm happy enough to accept this strategy. The added paragraph was only a passing mention of the term and of dubious quality. I will add additional content to the article only if I can find a comprehensive, even-handed and impartial account of the term that adds encyclopediac value. скоморохъ 04:13, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
Lifestyle Anarchism
tO the contrary,
I propose an expansion of the article-- and a revision of the definition: 'lifestyle anarchism' is not merely the attendance to the superficialities of subcultures such as punk or goth musical subcultures which have a anti-authoritarian or anti-social perspective, but rather is the deliberated and conscientous objection of people of any class and background to illegitimate authority or hierarchies founded on unsound values. As such, 'lifestyle anarchism' is a philosophy which promotes a consciousness of individual consumption, and its impact in empowering corporations, businesses, governments, and organizations and the hierachies and authority they derive from such empowerment. It may be seen as a realization of a 'Middle-Way' or 'Third Way' philosophy, -- the realization that total economic independence in a world of complex, global interconnections is impossible, and likewise that zero consumption is impossible short of death, which forces individuals to consider their consumer ideology and reasoning (rather than merely express disdain for the term 'consumer', which is at best a superficial rejection of the 'Status Quo')... I will begin working towards such an expansion. -- 0101Roger0101 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.51.85.203 (talk) 21:14, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
