Svirsk (Template:Langx) is a town in Irkutsk Oblast, Russia, located on the left bank of the Angara River Script error: No such module "convert". northwest of Irkutsk. Population: Template:Ru-census2010 Template:Replace (2002 Census);[1] Template:Replace (1989 Soviet census);[2] 21,000 (1974).

History

Svirsk was granted town status in 1949.[3]

Administrative and municipal status

Within the framework of administrative divisions, it is incorporated as the Town of Svirsk[4]—an administrative unit with the status equal to that of the districts.Script error: No such module "Unsubst". As a municipal division, the Town of Svirsk is incorporated as Svirsk Urban Okrug.[5]

Sport

Nikita Tyukhay from Svirsk is training Chinese boys and girls in bandy[6] as well as China national bandy team.[7]
