  • 16:2816:28, 28 October 2025 diff hist −259 Alveolate That might be what the word means as a general adjective, but these area _alveolates_, distinguished by the presence of alveoli, and thus alveolate in fact means alveoli-bearing and not pitted as it would if you were describing plants or mushrooms. These have sacs, they're sac-bearing. A better thing to do would be to do (from Latin alveolatus, meaing sac-bearing) but I don't know how to do that nicely, so if anyone is mad at this please do that instead of reverting since this is just incorrect. current
