Template:Langr is a municipality in the district of [[Hohenlohe (district)|Template:Langr]] in [[Baden-Württemberg|Template:Langr]], Germany. It is principally known as the location of [[Schöntal Abbey|Template:Langr Abbey]].

History
Following the dissolution of [[Schöntal Abbey|Template:Langr Abbey]] in 1802, its constituent towns were governed by the [[Kingdom of Württemberg|Kingdom of Template:Langr]] as they had existed under the monastery. In 1810–11, this district was dissolved and its area given to the Template:Ill, Template:Ill, and Template:Ill districts. In 1938, these were all given to the Template:Langr district of the [[Free People's State of Württemberg|Free People's State of Template:Langr]]. With the Template:Ill, Template:Langr and its old Script error: No such module "Lang".e have been assigned to the [[Hohenlohe (district)|Template:Langr district]]. The [[Bundesautobahn 81|Template:Langr 81]], running through Template:Langr, began operation in 1974.[2]
Geography

Template:Langr is physically located on the Template:Ill and Template:Ill. It is bisected by the [[Jagst|Template:Langr]] river, which also marks the lowest elevation in the municipality at Script error: No such module "convert". above sea level NN. The highest elevation, Script error: No such module "convert"., is found in the east of the municipal area.[2]
Coat of arms
The municipal coat of arms for Template:Langr displays an armored fist in silver and a crosier in gold crossed diagonally over a green field but behind the Script error: No such module "Lang"., a checkerboard-pattern red-and-white bar associated with the Cistercian Order. This pattern was issued by the Template:Langr district government on 19 September 1978, but evolved from renditions of a pattern in 1972 that omitted the armored hand, a reference to [[Götz von Berlichingen|Template:Langr]], who is buried in Template:Langr. The crosier and the bar references the Cistercians, whose iconography, most prominently Template:Langr Abbey's church, had been used to identify Template:Langr in postage stamps in the past.[2]
