It was formed on 30 October 2003 by Phool Singh Baraiya, the former Madhya Pradesh State President of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), after he was expelled from that party. [1][2] Baraiya became the party’s first president, while Sant Kumar, another expelled BSP leader, was appointed vice-president.[3]
State leadership
The Punjab state president of the SSP was Darshan Singh Jethumajara.[4]
Merger
On 7 July 2004, the Samata Samaj Party merged with the Lok Jan shakti Party.[5]
