History
Sakaishi Station opened on February 2, 1932, as the Script error: No such module "Nihongo"., also known as the Script error: No such module "Nihongo".. It was renamed the Script error: No such module "Nihongo". on August 1, 1941, and to Script error: No such module "Nihongo". on May 1, 1944. It became Sakaishi Station on May 1, 1965. With the privatization of the Japan National Railways (JNR) on April 1, 1987, the station came under the aegis of the West Japan Railway Company.
Station numbering was introduced in March 2018 with Sakaishi being assigned station number JR-R28.[1][2]

In fiscal 2019, the station was used by an average of 12,047 passengers daily (boarding passengers only).[3]
