The lab has supported writers including Mike Lew, Rehana Lew Mirza, Qui Nguyen, Jiehae Park, and Lauren Yee. Ma-Yi received the Special Drama Desk Award in 2010 for "more than two decades of excellence and for nurturing Asian American voices in stylistically varied and engaging theatre."[6]
