Pedro Vilca Apaza District is one of five districts of the province San Antonio de Putina in Peru.[1]

History

Pedro Vilca Apaza District was created on March 17, 1962.

Geography

One of the highest mountains of the district is Wayruruni at approximately Script error: No such module "convert".. Other mountains are listed below:[2]

Ethnic groups

The people in the district are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (89.53%) learnt to speak in childhood, 4.32% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census).[3]
