Parvardegār or Parwardigār (Script error: No such module "Lang".; Script error: No such module "IPA".) is an appellation or title for God in the Persian language.[1] Its literal meaning is sustainer, a name metaphorically and attributively used for Khuda or God.

The word has Persian roots and comes from the past stem of parwardan meaning to foster, cherish, to nurture, to develop/care for, to sustain. The suffix -gar (lit. 'doer'), when applied in this sense, makes the word an active noun. Thus Parvardigar means "the One who sustains." It corresponds to the Arabic name for God in Islam Razzaq.
