Otelfingen
Otelfingen is a municipality in the district of Dielsdorf in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. The centre of the village, with its typical timber-framed houses, is listed in the Federal Inventory of Swiss Sites of National Importance (ISOS)[1]

Otelfingen is first mentioned in 1044 as Otilingun though there is some debate about this identification. In 1079 it was mentioned as Notkerus de Otelfingen.[2]
Geography
Otelfingen has an area of Script error: No such module "convert".. Of this area, 47.1% is used for agricultural purposes, while 37.1% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 14.8% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (1%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains).[3]
The majority of the municipality is the village of Otelfingen, a Haufendorf (an irregular, unplanned and quite closely packed village, built around a central square) located in the Furttal on the border with the Canton of Aargau.

Over the last 10 years the population has grown at a rate of 33.6%. Most of the population (since 2000[update]Template:Dated maintenance category (articles)Script error: No such module "Check for unknown parameters".) speaks German (91.7%), with Italian being second most common ( 3.0%) and French being third ( 1.1%).
In the 2007 election the most popular party was the SVP which received 41.9% of the vote. The next three most popular parties were the SPS (15.9%), the FDP (12.6%) and the CSP (10.8%).
The age distribution of the population (since 2000[update]Template:Dated maintenance category (articles)Script error: No such module "Check for unknown parameters".) is children and teenagers (0–19 years old) make up 24.6% of the population, while adults (20–64 years old) make up 65.4% and seniors (over 64 years old) make up 10%. In Otelfingen about 80.7% of the population (between age 25-64) have completed either non-mandatory upper secondary education or additional higher education (either university or a Fachhochschule).
