Template:Pp Template:Short description Naidu (also spelled as Nayudu, Naidoo) is a Telugu title commonly used by various Telugu castes. 'Nayudu/Naidu' is a contraction of the Telugu word 'Nayakudu' meaning leader, chief, headman.[1][2] Telugu castes such as the Kapu/Balija,[3][4][5][6] Kamma, Gavara,[7][8] Golla,[9][10] Turpu Kapu,[11] Velama, Boya[12] among others use the title.

In Rayalaseema and North / Western Tamil Nadu, the term Naidu primarily refers to the Kamma caste.

In Coastal Andhra, the term Naidu primarily refers to the Kapu caste.[13][14][15]
