Template:Short description Template:Automatic taxobox
Mylacanthus is an extinct genus of prehistoric coelacanth lobe-finned fish that lived during the Smithian (early Olenekian) age of the Early Triassic epoch in what is now Svalbard.[1][2][3]
Two species are known, the type species Mylacanthus lobatus and a second species, M. spinosus. The fossils of both of these species were collected from the Lusitaniadalen Member of the Vikinghøgda Formation. Mylacanthus had an estimated body length of Template:Cvt to Template:Cvt.[3][4]
