Mohra Sharif is a village and religious site located in the Murree Hills of Punjab, Pakistan, near Islamabad. It is the spiritual center of the Naqshbandi Sufi order, specifically the Mujaddidi and Qasmiya branches.[1]

History

Mohra Sharif was established in the 19th century by Muhammad Qasim Sadiq, a figure associated with the Naqshbandi Sufi tradition.[2] After his death, his son Pir Nazeer Ahmed expanded the site’s religious activities[3] and established the Nisbat-e-Rasooli order.[4] Leadership later passed to Pir Haroon al Rasheed, who remained associated with the center for several decades. The current custodian is Dr. Gohar Nazeer.[5]

Location and geography

Mohra Sharif is a village located in the Murree Tehsil of Rawalpindi District, Punjab, Pakistan. It lies in the Pothohar Plateau near the foothills of the Pir Panjal Range.[1] The area features hilly terrain, pine forests, and terraced fields, with a temperate climate characterized by cold winters and mild summers. The village is recognized for its natural beauty and spiritual significance.[3]

Activities
