Metteniusa is a genus of flowering plants in the family Metteniusaceae.[1]Template:R/superscript It was named by Hermann Karsten in 1860 for the German botanist Georg Heinrich Mettenius.[2]Template:R/superscript It has seven species.[3]Template:R/superscript The type species is Metteniusa edulis.[4]Template:R/superscript. "Metteniusaceae" was proposed by Adalbert Schnizlein and validated by Hermann Karsten in 1860.[5]Template:R/superscript. The family is now placed in its own order, Metteniusales[1]Template:R/superscript.
