He won the Kisiel Prize for journalism in 2015.[1]
Controversies
Kolonko considers himself to be the president of Poland since the summer of 2021 and he claims that the current president of Poland, Andrzej Duda, is a criminal and an usurper.[2]
In 2022, after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Kolonko posted online a proposition of dividing Ukraine into three sectors, the western one under the control of Poland, the central one under the authority of United Nations peacekeepers,[3] and the eastern one under the control of Russia.[2]
In 2023 Kolonko, who lives in the United States, openly threatened the incumbent president of Poland, Andrzej Duda, with kidnapping and death, after giving the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy the Order of the White Eagle. In a video posted online he claimed that Zelenskyy is "one of the worst dictators and the worst criminals known since the times of Hitler",[2] that Duda is not a Pole, and that he will be exiled and given to the Wagnerites. Later in the video Kolonko stated directly that he will kill Duda himself.[4]
