He secured 5,096 votes defeating another independent candidate Abdul Hasan with 2,474 votes and Mohammad Saleem from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) who received 1,351 votes.
The formal oath-taking ceremony of the new chairperson and councilors was conducted on February 7, 2025.
