List of extreme points of Denmark
This is a list of the extreme points of Denmark: the points that are farther north, south, east or west than any other location.
Latitude and longitude
Jutland Peninsula
This includes only land on the Jutland peninsula – land that is part of mainland Europe:
- North : Skagen, North Jutland County (Template:Coord)[1]
- South : Padborg, South Jutland County (Template:Coord)[1]
- West : Blåvandshuk, Ribe County (Template:Coord)[1]
- East : Grenå, Aarhus County (Template:Coord)[1]
Following a flood in 1825, the northernmost part of Jutland is actually an island.[2]
Denmark proper
This includes only land in the European Union, also called Denmark proper, excluding Greenland and the Faroe Islands which are considered separate countries:
- North : Skagen, North Jutland County (Template:Coord)[1]
- South : Gedser, Falster[1]
- West : Blåvandshuk, Ribe County (Template:Coord)[1]
- East : Østerskær, Christiansø (Template:Coord)[1]
- The northernmost town in mainland Denmark is Skagen (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skagen) It's located on the Skagen Odde peninsula in North Jutland.
- The westernmost town in mainland Denmark is Blåvandshuk (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bl%C3%A5vandshuk) located in Ribe County. It sits at the westernmost point of the peninsula of Jutland, on the coast of the North Sea.
- The easternmost town in mainland Denmark is Grenaa (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grenaa) Located on the Jutlandic peninsula, Grenaa is a seaport and the furthest point east on the mainland.
- The southernmost town in mainland Denmark is a small rural hamlet southeast of Simondys, in South Jutland.
All territories
Danish territory includes the island of Kaffeklubben, the northernmost permanent piece of land on earth.[3] There are several temporary gravel banks marginally further north, such as Oodaaq, but these are not included here.
