The Kabul Premier League,[1][2][3] also known as Kabul City League,[4] was the first domestic football club league in Afghanistan.[4] It was established in 1946, comprising 12 clubs. Other regional or city leagues existed in the 1970s in Herat, Kandahar and Mazar-i-Sharif.[4] The main venue was the Ghazi Stadium in Kabul, and games were held on different days due to lack of stadiums. It was replaced by the Afghan Premier League.[4]
