KJJR (880 AM, "News Talk 880") is a radio station licensed to serve Whitefish, Montana, United States. Bee Broadcasting, Inc. owns the station and airs in a news/talk format.[1]
When it first aired at 1400 kHz on Valentine's Day in 1979, original programming included top 40 and oldies mixed in with country gold. Morning man Larry Heinrich, Program Director Dave Shannon, owner Benny Bee, and evening personality Jerry Mann were the leading air personalities, with Jeff Bolstad doing the news. KJJR's call letters were picked because Shannon liked KJR in Seattle. Out of the original disc jockeys, he is the only air personality still alive as of 2023. He is retired and living in the Wolf Point area. Later came syndicated talk shows hosted by Dan Bongino, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Michael Savage, Ben Shapiro, Joe Pags, and Bill Cunningham.
All Bee Broadcasting stations are based at 2431 Highway 2 East, Kalispell, Montana. The Federal Communications Commission assigned the station the KJJR call letters.[2] AM 880 is a clear-channel frequency in the United States, and WHSQ in New York City is the dominant and only Class A station.
