Jeremy Blaustein is an American translator, localizer, voice director and occasional voice actor.[1] He has worked as localizer and translator of Japanese media to western English speaking audiences, most notably in the mid to late 90s for Konami acclaimed videogame titles, and also as translator of anime series.
Personal background
He is of Jewish descent. Voice actress Maddie Blaustein is his older sister. Blaustein began studying the Japanese language at the University of Iowa and continued his graduate and post-graduate studies at the University of Illinois and the University of Pittsburgh.
Career
He is best known for his translation work in video games, though he has also worked as a voice actor and motion caption stand-in. Some of his most notable translation work includes Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and Silent Hill 2,[1][2][3][4] as well as the Pokémon anime and movies.[1]
He currently lives in Japan and is president of the Japanese-based video game localization agency Dragonbaby.[1]
