Script error: No such module "Nihongo". is a passenger railway station located in the city of Niimi, Okayama Prefecture, Japan. It is operated by the West Japan Railway Company (JR West).[1]

Lines

Ikura Station is served by the Hakubi Line, and is located 52.2 kilometers from the terminus of the line at Template:STN and 71.1 kilometers from Template:STN.

Station layout

The station consists of one side platform and one island platform. The station building is located next to the side platform and connected to the island platform by an underground passage. The station building serves as a tourist information center for the Niimi City Tourist Association, The station is unattended.

History

Ikura Station opened on October 25, 1928. With the privatization of the Japan National Railways (JNR) on April 1, 1987, the station came under the aegis of the West Japan Railway Company.

Passenger statistics

In fiscal 2019, the station was used by an average of 28 passengers daily.[2]

Surrounding area

The station is located at the bottom of Ikurakyo Gorge, which has been eroded by the meandering Takahashi River.
