Template:Short description Template:Speciesbox The hearty elimia, Elimia jonesi, is an extinct species of freshwater snails in the family Pleuroceridae.[1][2][3] This species was endemic to Alabama, the United States,[1][3] with records from the Coosa River.[4][2] It is now considered extinct,[1][2] having not been reported since the river was impounded, despite surveys.[2] The specific name jonesi honors Walter Jones, state geologist of Alabama.[4]
