Hazel Grove High School is an 11–18 mixed secondary school and sixth form with academy status in Hazel Grove, Stockport, Greater Manchester, England.
History
The school was inspected by Ofsted in 2018. It was rated as "Requires Improvement".[1]
In September 2019 the school became part of The Laurus Trust.[2]
The school was rated as "Good" at its most recent Ofsted inspection, which was carried out in 2022.[3]
In 2025, a series of violent incidents and reported cases of bullying emerged at the school. In February 2025, School bosses said they were taking action after a 'very unpleasant' fight which was caught on video at lunchtime. Bosses at the school said they were deleting with it robustly.[4]
In March 2025 a pupil with autism was pulled out of the school by his parents after 2 years of bullying. The final straw came in February this year when a video of him being assaulted by boys from school, one of whom sat on him and started hitting his head, began circulating online.[5] Professional Darts player Luke Humphries reached out to the boy's family and promised to arrange a special VIP trip for him to meet Premier League Darts stars backstage at the Manchester Arena.[6] Local MPs Lisa Smart and Tom Morrison also raised the issue of bullying at the school during this time.
Later in the month it emerged that there had been at least 19 individuals who had filed complaints with politicians over bullying at the school, relating to incidents since 2023 and are said to "vary in extremity."[7]
