Habib ibn Muzahir (Template:Langx) of the Banu Asad clan was a companion of Ali, Hasan ibn Ali and Husayn ibn Ali. He was among those in Kufa who sent letters to Husayn ibn Ali, inviting him there. However, upon learning that the people of Kufa had broken their allegiance to Husayn, he left Kufa and joined Husayn. He was killed at the age of 75 while fighting in Husayn's army at Karbala.[1]

Reportedly, Habib fought and killed 62 enemy soldiers before being attacked by Budayl bin Maryam 'Aqfani, who struck him on the head with a sword. Another enemy then hit him with a spear, causing him to fall from his horse, after which Budayl bin Maryam beheaded him.[6]
