It began in 1981 as a four-year college in Jinwol-dong, Nam-gu, Gwangju, named Gwangju Gyeongsang Jeonmun Daehak (Template:Ko-hhrm).
It now has three graduate schools and four colleges with more than fifteen thousand students.[1]
