Administration

Gio Linh is on National Route 1. It borders Vĩnh Linh district to the north and Đông Hà to the south.Script error: No such module "Unsubst".

History

According to an agreement reached in 1306, Jaya Simhavarman III the king of Champa ceded two prefectures Ulik and Vuyar in the Northern part of Champa to the emperor of Annam (the former name of Vietnam) Trần Anh Tông[2]Template:Rp

Economy

In 2019 two solar power projects in Gio Thành commune (now belonging to Gio Hải commune), with a total investment of nearly 550 billions Vietnam dongs, built three solar power stations to provide electricity.[3]
