Gees is a village in the Netherlands and it is part of the Coevorden municipality in Drenthe.

Gees is an esdorp which developed in the Middle Ages on higher ground.[1] It was first mentioned in 1207 or 1208 as Gies. The etymology is unclear.[2] In 1840, the village was home to 465 people.[3] The first church was built in 1857,[3] and has been replaced in 1913.[1]
