Frank Wesley Wainright (October 10, 1967 – April 5, 2016) was an American professional football tight end in the National Football League (NFL) for ten seasons for the New Orleans Saints, Philadelphia Eagles, Miami Dolphins, and Baltimore Ravens. He played high school his freshman through junior year at Peoria Heights High School. He played college football at the University of Northern Colorado and was drafted in the eighth round of the 1991 NFL draft.[1][2]

Wainright is one of at least 345 NFL players to be diagnosed after death with chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), which is caused by repeated hits to the head.[3][4]
