Durston House School is an independent day prep school for girls and boys aged 3 –13, located in Ealing, West London.[1] Fees range from £4,750 to £6,180 per term.[1]
History
Durston House was founded by the brothers Ben and Robert Pearce in 1886 as a Christian foundation and was essentially proprietary for its first hundred years of existence.[2] The educational charity that runs the school was launched in 1986, the school's centenary year, and the school has since trebled its size, with a pupil threshold of approximately 400. Its current headmaster is Giles Entwisle, who succeeded Ian Kendrick in September 2020.
In April 2022, the school announced that Durston House and Harvington School were to merge.[3]
In September 2023, Durston House became co-educational, accepting girls, and opened a pre-school for children aged 3+.
Facilities
The school is located across five different sites on Castlebar Road. The school owns two large playing fields both equipped with large pavilions, offering floodlit tennis and basketball courts. In addition, there are specialist art rooms and science laboratories to facilitate specialist study.[4][5]
An annual Carol Service and Easter Concert are held in the nearby St Peter's Church.[6]
