Cotness is a small hamlet in the civil parish of Laxton, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated just to the north of the River Ouse, approximately Script error: No such module "convert". south east of Howden.

History

Cotness was formerly a township in the parish of Howden,[1] in 1866 Cotness became a separate civil parish, on 1 April 1935 the parish was abolished and merged with Laxton, Eastrington and Howden.[2] In 1931 the parish had a population of 24.[3]
