A Script error: No such module "Lang". (Template:Langx, Script error: No such module "IPA".; Template:Lang-sh-Latn-Cyrl; Template:Langx), also Template:Transliteration/Template:Transliteration (Template:Langx) or Template:Transliteration (Template:Langx), is a small long-handled pot with a pouring lip designed specifically to make Turkish coffee. It is traditionally made of brass or copper, occasionally also silver or gold. In more recent times Script error: No such module "Lang". are also made from stainless steel, aluminium, or ceramics.
Name
The name Script error: No such module "Lang". is of Turkish origin, where it is a borrowing from Template:Langx (Template:Transliteration or Template:Transliteration, meaning 'ember').
The Script error: No such module "Lang". is also known as an Script error: No such module "Lang"., a Turkish word from Arabic Script error: No such module "Lang". (Template:Transliteration), from Aramaic Script error: No such module "Lang". (Script error: No such module "Lang".), from early Modern Persian Template:Transliteration (cf. Modern Persian Template:Transliteration), from Middle Persian Template:Transliteration, ultimately from Old Persian Template:Transliteration 'water' + Template:Transliteration 'pour' (cf. Modern Persian and Middle Persian Script error: No such module "Lang". [[[:Template:Transliteration]]]).[1][2]
Other names are briki, rakwa, Template:Transliteration (Script error: No such module "Lang".) in Russian and kanaka.
In Modern Hebrew, it is called Template:Transliteration (Script error: No such module "Lang".). Arabic coffee is commonly consumed by both Jews and Arabs in Israel,[3] but in the Arab world, the word Template:Transliteration Template:Langx always refers to a cup for drinking coffee, not the pot in which it is prepared. The semantic shift in Hebrew may have originated when pre-1948 Jewish settlers, who did not speak fluent Arabic, misunderstood the equipment used by Arabs in Nazareth who invited them to drink coffee.[4]
Variations
In Bulgaria, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czechia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia, the Script error: No such module "Lang". is a long-necked coffee pot. In Turkish an Script error: No such module "Lang". is not a coffee pot, but simply a pitcher or ewer.
