Geography

Bronkow is one of the five municipalities in the Amt of Altdöbern. The municipality includes the districts (German: Script error: No such module "Lang".) of Lipten (Lower Sorbian: Script error: No such module "Lang".) and Lug (Script error: No such module "Lang".), as well as the inhabited communities (Script error: No such module "Lang".) of Rutzkau (Script error: No such module "Lang".) and Saadow (Script error: No such module "Lang".) and the residential areas of Amandusdorf and Forsthaus Lipten.[1]

History

From 1815 to 1945, Bronkow was part of the Prussian Province of Brandenburg.

From 1952 to 1990, it was part of the Bezirk Cottbus of East Germany.
