The name Blythe (Template:IPAc-en or Template:IPAc-en) derives from Old English bliþe ("joyous, kind, cheerful, pleasant"; modern blithe), and further back from Proto-GermanicScript error: No such module "Unsubst". *blithiz ("gentle, kind").
