Avellinia is a genus of Mediterranean plants in the grass family.[1][2][3] The only known species is Avellinia festucoides, found throughout much of the Mediterranean Region from Portugal and Morocco to Turkey.[4][5][6] It is also reportedly naturalized in Australia.[7]

The type species is Avellinia michelii (Savi) Parl.[8]
