Foreign relations exist between Austria and Finland. Austria recognised Finland on 13 January 1918.[1] Both countries established diplomatic relations on 19 July 1918.[2] Austria has an embassy in Helsinki[3] and 6 honorary consulates (in Kajaani, Ristiina, Oulu, Tampere, Turku and Vaasa).[4] Finland has an embassy in Vienna and 8 honorary consulates (in Burgenland, Carinthia, Lower Austria, Upper Austria, Salzburg, Styria, Tyrol, and Vorarlberg).[5] Both countries are full members of the European Union and of the Council of Europe.[6] The two countries became members of the European Union in 1995.[7]

Herbert Pichler is the current ambassador of Austria to Finland.[8][9] Nina Vaskunlahti is the current ambassador of Finland to Austria since September 2023.[10]
