The station consists of one ground-level side platform serving a single bi-directional track. The station is unattended.

History

Aonogahara Station opened on 10 August 1913 as Script error: No such module "Nihongo".. It was renamed Script error: No such module "Nihongo". on 22 November 1916. When the line was nationalized on June 1, 1943, the name was changed to its present name. With the privatization of JNR on 1 April 1987, the station came under the control of JR West.

In fiscal 2019, the station was used by an average of 158 passengers daily[1]
