Abdul-Wahid Aziz (Template:Langx) (1931 – 19 July 1982)[1] was an Iraqi weightlifter from Basra, Iraq. He won a bronze medal in the lightweight division at the 1960 Summer Olympics and became the only person to have won an Olympic medal for Iraq.[2][3]
Aziz was imprisoned twice for his leftist political views; once in 1963 during the Ramadan Revolution, and once in 1980 during the Saddam Hussein regime.[4]
