772 Tanete is an asteroid from the asteroid belt. Since 2004 it has been observed in stellar occultation four times.[1] Its size is best described by an ellipsoid measuring Script error: No such module "val". x Script error: No such module "val".. Analysis of a light curve captured during 2014 shows a synodic rotation period of Script error: No such module "val". with an amplitude of 0.15 magnitude.[2]

In 1984, a fly-by of 772 Tanete was considered for a Mariner Mark II rendezvous mission with the short period comet 22P/Kopff.[3]
