Template:1989 Big Ten Conference football standings
The 1989 Ohio State Buckeyes football team represented the Ohio State University as a member of the Big Ten Conference during the 1989 NCAA Division I-A football season. Led by second-year head coach John Cooper, the Buckeyes compiled an overall record of 8–4 with a mark of 6–2 in conference play, tying for third place in the Big Ten. The team played home games at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.
A season highlight was Ohio State's game against Minnesota, in which the Buckers trailed 31–0, but came back to stun the Gophers, 41–37. This tied the record for the largest comeback win in college football history at the time. It still stands as the biggest comeback win in program history.
