Chris Evert defeated defending champion Martina Navratilova in a rematch of the previous year's final, 6–3, 6–7(4–7), 7–5 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 1985 French Open. It was her sixth French Open singles title and 17th major singles title overall. The final is considered one of the finest matches of the Evert–Navratilova rivalry and of the French Open's history.[1][2][3]
