Proposed deletion of Rain (Erasure song)

Notice

The article Rain (Erasure song) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Tagged as Unreferenced and unimproved for over 15 years. I searched twice: once in May, when I found a few hits that appeared promising, and then again today as part of the JUN24 drive, and was heartbroken, because I like this song. The Spanish language article has three sources: 1 is Discogs, another is their own website, and the last is not reliable. The hits on Google news are "false friends" or very passing mentions. Lacks significant coverage in reliable sources. Redirect to the LP is an alternative to deletion.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the Template:Tlc notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing Template:Tlc will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Songwriting credits sectionss

I've noticed that in most, if not all, biographies of musicians, the "Songwriting credits" sections often lack or have no citations. This seems unusual to me, given that all content must be verifiable. Are these uncited credits acceptable under any current guidelines, or would it be better practice to include a reference for each entry (e.g., in a dedicated reference column if in table format)? AstrooKai (Talk) 10:31, 4 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

@AstrooKai all content must be verifiable, but it doesn't all require citations. Generally, I would advise citations for such entries to support that the entries are indeed verifiable. I don't think a table (like at Ole Børud or List of songs written by Natalie Sims) is necessary, though acceptable and also helpful if the individual(s) in question has/have other types of credits like production or engineering work. There should, in my opinion, be at least a citation.--3family6 (Talk to me|See what I have done) 13:10, 4 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
