Regarding the 1947 anniversary, is there any source that says that the intention was to destroy Heligoland? According to the (German) citation in the Heligoland page, it was used as a bombing range, and the British wished to destroy the German military fortifications, but I cannot see anything that indicates the British wanted to destroy the island itself. Indeed, the article says the opposite (using Google Translate). Could an administrator with access to the page please fix this? I suggest changing it to "...in a concentrated attempt to destroy German World War II fortifications on the small island of..." 68.42.243.198 (talk) 00:10, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
