West Bengal
West Bengal (Template:IPAc-en, Bengali: Poshchim Bongo, Script error: No such module "IPA"., abbr. WB) is a state located on the eastern part of India. It is India's fourth-largest state by population and thirteenth-largest state by area.
Bengali is the official state language. In Megapolis Kolkata (Calcutta) and the wider Kolkata metropolitan area, Bengali, Urdu, English, Hindi and other languages are also spoken. In West Bengal we can find people of many religions. Mostly people from all over India had migrated here for business and residential purposes. Kolkata is the capital of West Bengal which is also the cultural capital of India. The city has the highest number of nobel laureates among all cities in India. It was also once the capital of entire British India. Winter capital is Siliguri.
Divisions Scope
WikiProject West Bengal is a collaboration to create, improve, and expand articles related to West Bengal, its history, dialects, and culture. The scope of this article fundamentally is loosely defined as all articles and sections relating to West Bengal. Almost all of these will be (eventually) categorised under Category:West Bengal and Category:India
- The project will cover all aspects of West Bengal-related articles from India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

- Creation of a generally standard look and feel for all West Bengal-related articles.
- To produce as many Featured Articles as possible related to West Bengal.
- To produce as many Good Articles as possible related to West Bengal.
- To write as many Did you know articles as possible related to West Bengal.
- To standardize the West Bengal related articles in Wikipedia.
- To improve Wikipedia coverage of West Bengal related articles by adding, expanding and improving West Bengal related articles.
- To serve as a central point of discussion for issues related to West Bengal related articles.
- West Bengal-related Tourist Attractions to be given more importance and it should be improved with suitable images of the places, since these articles will be read by many from outside India.
- Those who read about West Bengal should have the feeling that they should visit West Bengal and India.
