Wiki143:WikiProject Polymers
Template:Short description Template:WikiProject status Some Wikipedians have formed a project to better organize information in articles related to polymers. This page and its subpages contain their suggestions; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians. If you would like to help, please inquire on the talk page and see the to-do list there.

Title
WikiProject on Polymers
Scope
The aim of this WikiProject is to organize and disseminate all polymer related information on Wikipedia in a coordinated fashion.
At the moment, we are focusing on a few things (and please, be bold with adding new things to this list!)
- Bringing a list of industrially significant polymers up to featured article status.
- Doing a "top-down" approach on how to organize polymer articles and related information, possibly with the use of categories which group together significant topics relevant to polymer chemistry.
The approach at the moment is to first bring one polymer article up to featured article status, and then use that article as a template for other polymer articles. Polyethylene might be a good start because of its prevalence and dominance. However, it might be better to pick a more application specific polymer first, because there is too much variability for the definition of these polymers. The articles on polymers generally need to emphasize that they define a class of mixtures of molecules with a particular distribution, et cetera...
